Why I Married Him

By Julie M. Smith

Seven-year-old son to my husband, who was recently called as his Primary teacher: “What are we going to do in class today?”

Response: “I’m going to bring in a little bear cub and let you play with it for a few minutes. Then I’m going to bring in the mother bear. The lesson is about a mother’s love.”

What a great attention-getter for beginning a Primary lesson! With such thoughtful and creative attention to Primary prep (or responsiveness to a child’s curiosity) I can see why you love the man and want to keep him around. No doubt the seven-year-old’s curiosity was piqued.

Have him post the lesson to You-tube. It sounds . . . educational.

Just make sure no one calls your husband bald-head or tells him to go up.

Does he have a younger brother, say in his 20’s? ;)

  6. Now do you understand a mother’s love? Come on. Let’s go look at prosthetics.”

    Zing!

  8. Wow, if only we could get such great instructors for all our youth classes. We wouldn’t have the problems we now have with so many youth going inactive. You just sit the troubled youth in the front of the class when the mother bear is brought in….And make sure you have given them that salmon scented perfume.

Welcome
