Mormon Studies Books in 2026

Building on the collection of links about Latter-day Saint books for last year (Mormon Studies Books in 2025), here is the collection of books I’ve been able to find out about for 2026. I will continue to update this page throughout the year, as reviews, interviews, and podcasts become available for the books and other books come to my attention.

Church Historian’s Press

  • Rise Up and Speak: Selected Discourses of Eliza R. Snow, edited by Jennifer Reeder, Sharalyn D. Howcroft, Elizabeth A. Kuehn, Jessica M. Nelson
  • William Clayton Journals
    • Jointly published with Yale University Press

University of Utah Press

Oxford University Press

Illinois University Press

Signature Books

Greg Kofford Books

Basic Books

Deseret Book

  • Seven Crossings, by Rosalynde Welch and Adam Miller
    • Books in this series have been coming out in October, so I would expect it around then.
  • Learning the Great Fundamentals: Jesus Christ, Priesthood, and the Plan of Salvation, by Dallin H. Oaks
    • 24 January 2026
  • Quiet Disciples: How Everyday Acts of Faith Shape God’s Work
    • 2 February 2026
  • Picturing Christ: Understandings Depictions of Jesus in History and Art, by Daniel Becerra, Jennifer Champoux, Mark Ellison, and Matthew Grey
    • 2 March 2026

I’m sure there’s plenty more coming, but sometime during Q2 last year, Deseret Book’s publicity team stopped responding to emails or otherwise functioning, so good luck finding out any more info

  1. Thanks, Chad. Looks like a great year.

  2. Jenny Champoux

Look for _Picturing Christ: Understandings Depictions of Jesus in History and Art_ from Deseret Book on March 2! Coauthored by Daniel Becerra, Jennifer Champoux, Mark Ellison, and Matthew Grey.

  3. Jenny Champoux, good to know on that one!

    Gary Bergera, my pleasure.

  4. I enjoy this annual post. Pre orders placed. The new Oxford Bible and the book on Law look the most interesting for me.
