“Promesa cumplida” by Joel Morales is a fantastic example of hymns about the Great Apostasy and the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Mexican Latter-day Saint literature.
Note: This is a part of an ongoing series, the Mexico Mission Hymns Project.

¡Oh pueblos, naciones y tribus, venid, Os manda mensaje, á El escuchad!

| Light already appears on earth, And God’s great glory is shown; Again it delivers light to men, From his Gospel that he previously took away. | The light now appears on the earth from above, And God’s immense glory shines brightly abroad; Again it delivers its light to all folks, The Gospel that once was withdrawn by our God. |
| The wise who see it will be confused, Those with proud tempers will be frightened; But the righteous will have salvation From the King of the heavens, who will soon come. | The wise ones who see it will all be confused, And proud tempers shall be affrighted by light, But all of the righteous ones soon will be saved By Jesus, our King who comes soon in His might. |
¡Oh pueblos, naciones y tribus, venid, Os manda mensaje, á El escuchad! | Oh peoples, nations, and tribes, come, It sends you a message, listen to Him! He is God of the dead and alive too, It gives us salvation, peace and tranquility. | Oh people and tribes and all nations, please hear, The Lord sends His message, through His own mouthpiece! For He is the God of the living and dead, He gives us salvation, tranquility, peace. |
| For we are no longer slaves of evil; The Lord redeems us for free; And repented, let’s go after Of Him, who gives us of his great love. | For we are no longer enslaved to our sin, Redemption is free through the grace of our Lord; So let us repent and pursue with intent The One who has given us love and reward. |
