Here it is, a story about SVU from the SL Trib: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sltrib.com\/lds\/ci_9363275\">A bastion of Mormonism in Virginia&#8217;s Blue Ridge Mountains<\/a>.&#8221;  <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>SVU has great leadership and has, in a dozen years, created a successful but unaffiliated small LDS college in Virginia.  Congratulations to the leaders, faculty, and students.  I&#8217;m excited that such a venture &#8212; whose impetus and support came from individual Latter-day Saints, not from CES &#8212; has done so well.  I would not be so bold as to speculate that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lds.org\/ldsnewsroom\/media\/mediaplayer.swf?media=http:\/\/broadcast.lds.org\/newsroom\/video\/flv\/WorldReportApr2008\/Elder_Ballard_BYU_Hawaii.flv&#038;type=FLV\">Elder Ballard&#8217;s call<\/a> for individual Latter-day Saints to actively participate in online forums and sites is linked to the success of independent ventures like SVU.
