{"id":3960,"date":"2007-07-17T20:56:37","date_gmt":"2007-07-18T00:56:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/?p=3960"},"modified":"2007-07-17T20:56:37","modified_gmt":"2007-07-18T00:56:37","slug":"mail-and-fee-mail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2007\/07\/mail-and-fee-mail\/","title":{"rendered":"Mail and Fee Mail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The postal rate for periodicals is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commondreams.org\/news2007\/0713-03.htm\">expected to rise significantly this week, <\/a>due to changes in the ways rates are calculated.  <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The changes <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usps.com\/ratecase\/NewStandards_for_Periodicals_Mailing_Services.htm\">are complex<\/a>, but observers have suggested that they could result in increased postal costs of between 10 and 30 percent, particularly for smaller publishers who are unable to benefit from other changed provisions that lower some costs for multiple magazines a publisher sends to one address.  <\/p>\n<p>How will these changes affect Mormon studies periodicals?  Will they create additional burdens for Sunstone, Dialogue, BYU Studies, Irreantum?  Will some periodicals ultimately follow Exponent II in going paperless?
