{"id":3679,"date":"2007-01-21T00:37:49","date_gmt":"2007-01-21T04:37:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/?p=3679"},"modified":"2007-01-21T00:42:37","modified_gmt":"2007-01-21T04:42:37","slug":"finally-feminist-and-how","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2007\/01\/finally-feminist-and-how\/","title":{"rendered":"Finally Feminist&#8211;and How"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Susan Wise Bauer has a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianitytoday.com\/bc\/2007\/001\/8.28.html\">review<\/a> of (what sounds like) an interesting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0801031303\/sr=8-1\/qid=1144508766\/ref=pd_bbs_1\/002-5767882-1268840?%5Fencoding=UTF8\">book<\/a>.  <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Stackhouse, the author of <em>Finally Feminist<\/em>, presents an exegetical model for understanding the oppression of women in Christianity.  His way out of patriarchy and into egalitarianism&#8211;while still maintaining the authority of scripture&#8211;is one that does (and should) appeal to many evangelicals.  And it isn&#8217;t hard to see how, with minor tweaking, his argument could work in a Mormon context.
