(If you want a home in North Austin that looks as if a pack of large dogs instead of a pack of small boys had been living in it for the past five years, please email me.)<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Looking for houses online is fun, I think.  I like setting my criteria (at least 2.5 baths&#8211;no more living in mortal terror that the visiting teachers will see [and smell] a bathroom used by three little boys!).  I find it impossible <em>not<\/em> to think about ward boundaries during this process.<\/p>\n<p>Non-church related considerations have narrowed our house hunting to a three-ward area.  In that area there is a clear hierarchy in my mind:  one ward I absolutely do not want to be in, one that would be OK, and a third that I would prefer to the second.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes we pride ourselves on attending a church with geographically assigned congregations.  But when you are in the position to assign yourself to a geographic area, you are choosing your own ward.  And I feel vaguely guilty about that.  But I still don&#8217;t want to be in the ward that is behind door number one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re in the market for a new house.
