When Adam put up the <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2003\/11\/whatever-i-say-three-times-is-true\/\">first Times and Seasons post<\/a> on Nov. 19, 2003, there was no WordPress. There was no Bloggernacle. There were just six T&#038;S permabloggers (Nate, Matt, Adam, Kaimi, Greg, and Gordon) and a handful of commenters. Those were the days. Below are links to fifteen or twenty representative posts from the first year, with a few commenter names thrown in to give credit to the early followers of the blog.<\/p>\n<p> <!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nov. 2003 &#8211; <strong>Kaimi<\/strong> posts <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2003\/11\/nephites-lamanites-and-native-americans\/\">Nephites, Lamanites, and Native Americans<\/a> and a follow-up post <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2003\/11\/nephites-and-lamanites-redux\/\">Nephites and Lamanites Redux<\/a>. Commenters included annegb, Dave (me), Blake, and Mark B.<\/li>\n<li>Dec. 2003 &#8211; Among the 113 posts in December 2003 was <strong>Gordon&#8217;s<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2003\/12\/imormon-doctrinei-the-legacy\/\">Mormon Doctrine: The Legacy<\/a>. Commenters included Ben S. (now a perm), Clark, Kristine, and Jim (now a T&#038;S emeritus).<\/li>\n<li>Jan. 2004 &#8211; <strong>Claudia Bushman<\/strong>, one of our first guest bloggers, posted <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/01\/158-years-ago\/\">158 Years Ago<\/a>, recounting the 1846 voyage from New York to San Francisco of roughly 230 LDS ocean pioneers under the leadership of Samuel Brannan.<\/li>\n<li>Feb. 2004 &#8211; <strong>Kristine<\/strong>, another guest blogger, posted <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/02\/what-i-did-over-summer-vacation\/\">What I did over summer vacation<\/a> (she was a Summer Fellow at Smith Institute at BYU). Commenters included Melissa, Karen, and William Morris.<\/li>\n<li>Mar. 2004 &#8211; <strong>Julie Smith&#8217;s<\/strong> first post at T&#038;S, as a guest blogger: <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/03\/the-talk-ive-never-given\/\">The Talk I&#8217;ve Never Given<\/a>. Commenters included Bob and Logan, and Lyle. Of special note in March 2004 was the post <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/03\/the-nameless-mormon-blogosphere\/\">The Nameless Mormon Blogosphere<\/a>, with Grasshopper suggesting &#8220;Bloggernacle Choir&#8221; in the third comment and Nate shortening it to &#8220;The Bloggernacle&#8221; at comment 5.<\/li>\n<li>Apr. 2004 &#8211; Permablogger <strong>Greg Call<\/strong> hosted our first 12 Questions feature with guest <strong>Armand Mauss<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/04\/12-questions-for-armand-mauss-part-one\/\">Part 1<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/04\/12-questions-for-armand-mauss-part-two\/\">Part 2<\/a>). By the end of April, new permabloggers included Jim F., Russell, Kristine, and Julie.<\/li>\n<li>May 2004 &#8211; Guest blogger <strong>Ben Huff<\/strong> posted <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/05\/theology-on-the-model-of-kuhnian-science\/\">Theology on the Model of Kuhnian Science<\/a>. Commenters included Kingsley, Mark Butler, Ivan Wolfe, and Kevin Christensen.<\/li>\n<li>June 2004 &#8211; <strong>Nate<\/strong> posted <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/06\/how-i-learned-to-stop-worrying-and-love-elder-mcconkie\/\">How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Elder McConkie<\/a>. Commenters included danithew, Aaron Brown, Davis Bell, Ethesis, and Floyd the Wonder Dog.<\/li>\n<li>July 2004 &#8211; Guest blogger <strong>Taylor Petray<\/strong> posted <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/07\/mormonism-and-theories-of-religion-tylor-and-frazer\/\">Mormonism and Theories of Religion: Tylor and Frazer<\/a>. Sheesh, I didn&#8217;t think Taylor Petray was even out of high school back in 2004.<\/li>\n<li>Aug. 2004 &#8211; Lots of new faces. <strong>Frank McIntyre<\/strong> posted <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/08\/a-few-facts-on-religion-in-america\/\">A Few Facts on Religion in America<\/a>. Guest <strong>Jeff Lindsay<\/strong> posted <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/08\/what-evidences-really-matter-in-a-testimony\/\">What Evidences Really Matter in a Testimony?<\/a> <strong>Matt Evans<\/strong> hosted <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/08\/12-ianswersi-for-ken-jennings-part-one\/\">12 Answers! for Ken Jennings, Part 1<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/08\/12-ianswersi-for-ken-jennings-part-two\/\">Part 2<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Sept. 2004 &#8211; <strong>Jim F.<\/strong> posted <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/09\/difference-disagreement-and-contention\/\">Difference, Disagreement, and Contention<\/a>. Commenters included John Mansfield, Jonathan Green, Wilfried, and John Fowles.<\/li>\n<li>Oct. 2004 &#8211; <strong>Wilfried<\/strong> posted <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2004\/10\/primitive-church\/\">Primitive Church<\/a>, recounting his conversion in Belgium in 1964 and his impressions of the small branch he first attended. Commenters included Geoff B., Kevin Barney, and J. Stapley. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Wow. We covered a lot of ground that first year. (I say &#8220;we&#8221; even though I did not put up <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/2007\/06\/biographies-of-a-new-world-man\/\">my first post<\/a> at T&#038;S until June 2007.) And I didn&#8217;t even get to the guest posts that first year by <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/author\/richard-bushman\/?poststart=1\">Richard Bushman<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/author\/steve-evans\/?poststart=1\">Steve Evans<\/a>. And <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/author\/dan-peterson\/?poststart=1\">Dan Peterson<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/timesandseasons.org\/index.php\/author\/bryce-inouye\/?poststart=1\">Bryce Inouye<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Two final items. First, a sincere thank you to all the readers and commenters who have followed and contributed to T&#038;S over the last ten years &mdash; it wouldn&#8217;t be much fun without you!<\/p>\n<p>Second &#8230; I wonder what T&#038;S will be like in ten more years?
