His academic<br \/>\nspecialty is 20th-century European philosophy, particulary the<br \/>\nphilosophy of Martin Heidegger and some of his French acolytes. His<br \/>\nhobbies are playing with grandchildren, cooking (and, therefore, also<br \/>\neating), travel, and New Testament studies, and for none of them is<br \/>\nthere sufficient time.
