<\/p>\nThe recent elections included some changes in the Mormons holding elective office around the country, but overall not a lot of change. We still have about the same number of Mormons in the U.S. Congress. The areas where a lot of Mormons are in state government still have a lot in state government. But some of the areas where there were few Mormons serving in elected office lost the few that they had. In the end, Mormon politicians ended up more concentrated.<\/p>\n

I probably should have posted this a week or so ago. But I think the information will still be interesting and useful. <\/p>\n
As I did before the election, I have listed the Federal level politicians first, followed by the state level politicians for each state, except for Utah, where the number of politicians is so large that I need more time to analyze it.<\/p>\n
As always, I am interested in further information. In some cases I have made assumptions about who is Mormon when complete information isn’t available. When I know that someone is no longer Mormon, I have indicated it.<\/p>\n

As expected there are 7 Mormons in the Senate, one senator from a historically LDS family and one who was Mormon briefly as a youth.<\/p>\n

Mia Love conceded to Jim Matheson, but the vote is close enough that a reversal is possible, at least in theory. Sinema also has apparently won a very close race that theoretically could be reversed.<\/p>\n

The Arizona Senate has 30 members.<\/p>\n
The Arizona House of Representatives has 60 members.<\/p>\n
The Hawaii House of Representatives has 51 members.<\/p>\n
The Idaho State Senate has 35 members.<\/p>\n
The Idaho House of Representatives has 70 members.<\/p>\n
The Iowa House of Representative has 100 members.<\/p>\n
The Michigan House of Representative has 110 members.<\/p>\n
The Montana House of Representatives has 100 members.<\/p>\n
