A number of photobloggers have captured images of this; see, for example, <a href=\"http:\/\/karlo.org\/archives\/000555.html\">photos here<\/a>, or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rion.nu\/v5\/archive\/000835.php\">here<\/a>.  The images bring to mind a stanza <a href=\"http:\/\/library.lds.org\/nxt\/gateway.dll\/Curriculum\/music.htm\/hymns.htm\/restoration.htm\/37%20the%20wintry%20day%20descending%20to%20its%20close.htm#JD_Hymns.37\">from a seldom-sung hymn<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>Pale through the gloom the newly fallen snow<br \/>\nWraps in a shroud the silent earth below<br \/>\nAs tho &#8217;twere mercy&#8217;s hand had spread the pall,<br \/>\nA symbol of forgiveness unto all.<\/p>\n<p>The Lord <a href=\"http:\/\/scriptures.lds.org\/isa\/1\/18#18\">uses snow as a symbol of repentance<\/a>:  &#8220;Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.&#8221;  The snow on the Gates brings that image to life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s snow on the Gates in Central Park.
