We have two trees in our house. One artificial tree we put up around Thanksgiving and one live one I have decorated in a Victorian style. I enjoy decorating although our kitten and puppy keep stealing decorations or taking down the ribbons and so forth.

I just learned (after 18 years of marriage) that my wife’s father did it. She told me that right after she came down from the roof!

We are now the only house on the block without lights, something that Janice reminds me of each time we drive up, but her reminder is good-natured. I don’t think she really expect me to give in on this one.

Some people grit their teeth and bear it, while others drink it in (wassail!). I rarely meet neutral persons.

I don’t think the difference is spirituality. I think some of us just have a taste for frivolity and merrymaking that others do not.
