  1. Years ago my grandparents served a mission, acting as tour guides at the site above.

    From our visits with them there, we learned to love the area and also the Vermont maple syrup.

  2. I wonder at how the splendor of the site as shown in this picture contrasts with the humble circumstances it represents. It doesn’t bother me — I really like well-tended and well-architected gardens — but I appreciate the contrast.

  4. Thank you. Nice image. I have never been there but I hope to in the not distant futre and to get photos of my own. Dane’s observation is a striking one. I can’t help but wonder what power it might hold if it had been preserved in its humbleness.

    Perhaps that was not even possible. I have no idea what was here or what the place looked like when the church took ownership.
