I could somewhat relate w/the dead deer..last year I killed a deer on the road,I also pulled it over to the roadside. ( I happened to have a sheet in my car that day) The day after I did this I felt very bad and kept thinking of all the famous deer such as Bambi, Rudolf,etc

But the image of Santa pulling the deer to the side of the road is just priceless. I love the cartoon depiction of your “blog artist”

Isn’t it great that family “didn’t report you” to the authorities..just like Christmas Eve weather forecasts usually include a radar image of Santa’s current location. It would hae been something had the family made this a nationwide story of having caught Santa in that predicament.

His name is actually Donder, not Donner! Something I learned this season, lol. (I’d been saying it wrong, too!)

I am cracking up over the deer! You KNOW that family still sits around to this DAY and talks about Santa killing his reindeer on the side of the road!!! LOL

A wonderful little essay, Rory. I guess it’s worth remembering that before America made him into the God of Toys, Santa Claus was a saint and a Christian. In better moments, that still comes through.
