Welcome, Bruce. Look forward to reading.

FWIW, I don't think getting the kids out by 50 is an "upside"--my husband turns 50 this year and our baby is only 5--but that's just me. :)

Kevin (#7): Actually, it's more like new-fashioned Mormonism, since it represents combined families -- my sweet wife Sandra and I were each married previously. Both divorced, we married each other at 33 and found ourselves with nine kids under the age of 14. The upside was that they were all pretty much out of the house by the time we were 50 (though my youngest daughter has moved back in a few times). Now we just have four dogs. :-) ..bruce..

Welcome, Bro. Webster. I first ran into your name atop articles for Byte magazine in the early 1980s, back when it was still the Small Systems Journal. It was neat to learn, years later, that he (and Orson Scott Card, who wrote for Compute! and Compute!'s Gazette) was a member of my church.
