One competitor’s vehicle exploded on camera already. The next attempt is at 2:30 Mountain Time. You can watch a live webcast here. The challenge t is being held in Las Cruces, NM, but is not open to the public.

    Loosely related to the Northrop Grumman Lunar Lander challenge is the Google Lunar X Prize, which I think is even more intriguing. Unfortunately, my pick to win the X Prize dropped out:

    Apparently the terms were a bit too fluid and a bit too restrictive. I still think Team Cringely will make it to the moon, on its own terms, and hopefully we’ll get to see the whole thing on PBS someday.

    Now lets see some landers explode!
