I really enjoyed Julie’s son’s very well written book review.

Some Utahns are too thin. My friend in nursing school says Utah has an extraordinarily high low birth weight problem. Many women there pruposefully don’t eat enough during pregnancy, leading to premature births and low birth weights. How’s that for the vainest city in the country?

Confusing BCC with Random Sampler–very well put.

And that sums up my random comments.

Thanks for the link to Mormonides (Evil Martha). I haven’t had a good Yiddish fix in years; I’ll have to pull out my Sholem Aleichem (and keep reading Mormonides, of course).

Thanks also for the link to strangemaps. I’d never seen that site.

One week; two new blogs! You’re helping to keep me sane over the summer break!

The Newsnet article was good for some giggles, and I agree with mmiles about Julie’s phrasing of the language in the link. Congratulations also to Simon!

Come on, people, the moon might have water. Link of the week.

I’ll admit that when I heard the moon water story on the radio, my first thought was that one of my daughters would be very interested in the story and my second thought was that we would probably be seeing it on T&S pretty quickly. Thanks for not disappointing!

Perhaps my emails on this got caught by a spam filter. The headlines about the Nigerian immigration minister are incorrect. He’s Kenyan.

    See – homepage.
At this moment they have a lead article about a LDS member from Nevada to be excommunicated for printing a topless pinup Missionaries.

  7. mmiles on July 11, 2008 at 8:11 pm

There is possible action against the guy–the church doesn’t say that is why he is being excommunicated–that is the spin on it. We don’t really know why.

  8. Researcher on July 11, 2008 at 9:57 pm

But it’s great publicity for his publication!
