Announcements of new bloggernacle blogs are about as rare as birth announcements in a student ward. Or dating melodrama in a singles ward. Or semi-apostate ramblings in your ward’s geriatric section high priests group. Pick your metaphor. In any event, some recent new arrivals to the ‘nacle that I’ve noticed include:
–Various Stages of Mormondom looks interesting. Unweildy title aside (think Mahonri Moriancumr), it’s a new blog with “some Mormons, [s]ome former Mormons, [and s]ome In Betweens.” They’re also promising to post on a weekly schedule. If they can pull that feat off, proprieters of ad-hoc-schedule blogs everywhere will be green with envy.
–Splendid Sun is a new blog by Jonathan Stapley, who makes comments around here from time to time. Here’s a nice, lighthearted post about genocide to start you out.
-Longtime commenter Charles weighs in with his personal blog at Job 21:3. It has a mix of church discussion, politics, and personal posts.
–Thoughtful Spot is a personal and book-related blog, with a bit of politics and current events mixed in.
-It’s not really new, but I just recently noticed The Heather Show, a blog by an articulate and creative young woman, about her life in general.
-And finally, I would be quite remiss not to mention Out of the Best Books, a new book-reviewing blog by an intelligent and lucid woman based out of Austin (whose name may seem familiar to T & S readers . . .).

Kaimi: Thanks for the nod. I’ve been travelling alot this week (I’ll be back on Thursday), and haven’t been able to be as active on any blogs. By my format I imagine you could see I drew heavily from T&S. Thanks for being a great catalyst.
It shouldn’t be hard to get bonus points, considering that Kaimi’s opinions are benighted and mine are not.
I can’t recall if it was mentioned here or not, but Planet LDS, is a great blog aggregator that appears to list all the new posts at all blogs. Unfortunately some blogs don’t use the features of their blogging software to specify a “header” so that not all of their post is displayed. (Bad bloggers, bad) Hopefully as more people find out about both RSS feeds and Planet LDS they’ll start to make use of those features of their blog software.
In the past couple of days I’ve really come to appreciate Planet LDS. It lets me see posts of lesser known blogs or blogs that infrequently post. I’ve never really appreciated aggregation software like NetNewsWire. I’d use them a bit but then decide it wasn’t worth the effort. But I’m slowly changing my ways. (And also discovering the occasional bug in my own scripts for generating RSS feeds)
