Ward Web Sites

So my wife took my daughters to Enrichment Night tonight, and I was trying to remember why. Is it the Relief Society’s birthday? Some sort of mother-daughter bonding event? Or perhaps the women of the Church have finally had enough and they are simply taking over. Then I had a bright idea: check the ward’s website! Sure enough, it lists Enrichment Night for tonight. When I click for more details, I am prompted to give a username and password, which I navigate successfully. My reward:

Hmm. That was almost pretty cool.

Think that’s cool? Try being the stake website administrator. ;-)

Website Administrator. I can deal with that term. I have to say I thought it was a little creepy when I was asked to sustain my ward’s first “Webmaster.” The word just has a mystical, Kung-fu Jedi ring to it when uttered in an ecclesiastical context. I couldn’t help pronouncing it “Web Mastah,” in an ominous voice, the syllables elongated.

I thought it would be cool, too. But then I found out that I need my membership number and my confirmation date, and the coolness left me.

Did they really exhaust all possibilities of letting us get in with information we DO know?

Ask your ward clerk for it. It will be on the Individual Ordinance Summary report.
